Тема: IAU Symposia in 2016
IAU Division A Members:
Piero Benvenuti, Assistant General Secretary of the IAU Executive Committee, has notified the Division Presidents that only 5 Letters of Intent for Symposia in 2016 were submitted by the September 15th deadline for its 9 intended IAU Symposia in 2016. While this year is also busy with the Letters of Intent for new IAU Commissions (due Oct 15) and the upcoming General Assembly in 2016, there is still concern with the lack of Letters of Intent for Symposia. Hence, the deadline for Letters of Intent for Symposia has been extended to October 31st (while the deadline of December 15th for submitting the full proposals remains the same). On behalf of our Division A President, Sergei Klioner, I would like to encourage our Division A members to consider this opportunity to organize IAU Symposia in 2016. A reminder that the submission of Letter of Intent for Symposia serves to inform the IAU Members the themes covered by Symposia, but are not completely mandatory.
