VENUS

VENUS is a brilliant object in the morning sky from the beginning of the year until early May when it becomes too close to the Sun for observation. In mid-July it reappears in the evening sky where it stays until the end of the year.

Venus is in conjunction:

with Jupiter on February 1 (at 13^h Venus 0.6^o N of Jupiter) and December 1 (at 01^h Venus 2^o S of Jupiter),

with Mercury on February 26 (at 03^h Mercury 1.3^o N of Venus), March 23 (at 10^h Mercury 1.0^o S of Venus), August 23 (at 05^h Mercury 1.2^o S of Venus) and September 11 (at 05^h Mercury 4^o S of Venus),

with Saturn on August 13 (at 19^h Venus 0.2^o S of Saturn)

and with Mars on September 11 (at 21^h Venus 0.3^o N of Mars).

DO NOT CONFUSE:

Venus with Jupiter from late January to early February and late November to early December, with Mercury from late February to early April and mid-August to mid-September, with Saturn in mid-August and with Mars in the first three weeks of September; on all occasions Venus is the brighter object.
