Permanent GPS station UZHL

Location

The permanent GPS station UZHL was founded on 5 February 1999 by the Main Astronomical Observatory of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (MAO NASU), Kiev, Ukraine. It is located at the Space Research Laboratory of the Uzhgorod National University, Uzhgorod, Ukraine. The antenna is placed on top of the still pillar mounted on the roof of the Laboratory office.

The station is equipped with the Trimble 4000SSi receiver and choke ring antenna (TRM29659.00).

Regular observations started on 26 March 1999. The results of the GPS observations are sent at regular intervals (once per day) in internal binary format to the Operational Center of the MAO NASU. Then (after transformation to the compact RINEX format) the results are sent to the IGS Regional Data Center at the Federal Agency of Cartography and Geodesy (BKG), Frankfurt am Main, Germany and to the EPN Local Data Center at the Space Research Institute (OLG), Graz, Austria.

In 1999, the GPS station UZHL was included to the Ukrainian permanent GPS network, a member of the International GNSS Service (IGS) network since 27 May 1999. Besides, the station was included to European Permanent GPS Network (EPN) (GPSweek No 1020).
