Permanent GPS station POLV
Location The permanent GPS station POLV was founded on 26 April 2001 by the Research Institute of Geodesy and Cartography, Kiev, Ukraine, supported by the Ministry for Education and Science of Ukraine and National Space Agency of Ukraine. It was located at the Poltava Gravimetric Observatory (Poltava, Ukraine) of the M.I. Subbotin Geophysical Institute, Kiev, Ukraine. The antenna is placed on top of the still pillar mounted on the roof of the Observatory main office. The station is equipped with the Trimble 4700 receiver and choke ring antenna (TRM29659.00) Regular observations started on 26 April 2001. The results of the GPS observations are sent at regular intervals (once per day and once per hour since 20 June 2006) in internal binary format to the Operational Center of the Main Astronomical Observatory of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Kiev, Ukraine. Then (after transformation to the compact RINEX format) the results are sent to the IGS Regional Data Center at the Federal Agency of Cartography and Geodesy (BKG), Frankfurt am Main, Germany and to the EPN Local Data Center at the Space Research Institute (OLG), Graz, Austria. In 2001, the GPS station POLV was included to the Ukrainian permanent GPS network, a member of the International GNSS Service (IGS) network since 27 June 2001. Besides, the station POLV was included to European Permanent GPS Network (EPN) on 9 September 2001 (GPSweek No 1131).
