Permanent GPS station MIKL

Location

The permanent GPS station MIKL was founded on 12 March 2002 by the Research Institute of Geodesy and Cartography, Kiev, Ukraine, supported by the Ministry for Education and Science of Ukraine and by the National Space Agency of Ukraine. It is located at the Research Institute "Nikolaev Astronomical Observatory", Mykolaiv, Ukraine. The antenna is placed at the top of the still pillar mounted on the roof of the Observatory main office.

The station is equipped with the Trimble 4700 receiver and Zephyr antenna (TRM41249.00)

Regular observations started on 20 May 2002. The results of the GPS observations are sent at regular intervals (once per day and once per hour, since 21 June 2006) in internal binary format to the Operational Center of the Main Astronomical Observatory of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Kiev, Ukraine. MAO NASU. Then (after transformation to the compact RINEX format) the results are sent to the IGS Regional Data Center at the Federal Agency of Cartography and Geodesy (BKG), Frankfurt am Main, Germany and to the EPN Local Data Center at the Space Research Institute (OLG), Graz, Austria.

The GPS station MIKL was included to the Ukrainian permanent GPS network in 2002. This one has been a member of the International GNSS Service (IGS) network since 1 July 2002. Besides, the station MIKL was included to European Permanent GPS Network (EPN) in 10 November 2002 (GPSweek No 1192).
