Permanent GPS station KHAR
Location The permanent GPS station KHAR was founded in autumn 1997 and re-installed on 23 November 2002 by the Main Astronomical Observatory of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (MAO NASU), Kiev, Ukraine. It is located at the National Scientific Center "Institute of Metrology", Kharkiv, Ukraine. The antenna is placed on top of the still pillar mounted on the roof of the Institute of Metrology. The station is equipped with the Trimble 4000SSi receiver, choke ring antenna (TRM29659.00) and external time standard H-Maser, 5 MHz. The regular observations started on 23 November 2002. The results of the GPS observations are sent at regular intervals (once per day and once per hour) in internal binary format to the Operational Center of the MAO NASU. Then (after transformation to the compact RINEX format) the results are sent to the IGS Regional Data Center at the Federal Agency of Cartography and Geodesy (BKG), Frankfurt am Main, Germany and to the EPN Local Data Center at the Space Research Institute (OLG), Graz, Austria. In 2002, the GPS station KHAR was included to the Ukrainian permanent GPS network, a member of the International GNSS Service (IGS) network since 2005. Besides, the station was included to the European Permanent GPS Network (EPN) on 20 May 2005 (GPSweek No 1315).
