Permanent GPS station CRAO

Location

The permanent GPS station CRAO was founded on 27 April 2000 by the
Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), USA. It was included to the Mediterranean GPS Network, University NAVSTAR Consortium (UNAVCO). The station is located near the Crimean SLR station SIMEIZ of the Crimean Astrophysical Observatory, Simeiz, Crimea, Ukraine.

The station is equipped with the Rogue SNR-8000 receiver and Choke Ring (IGS code: AOAD/M_T)<.

Regular observations started on 27 April 2000. The results of the GPS observations are sent at regular intervals (once per day and once per hour) to the UNAVACO ftp-server. Then (after transformation to the Compact RINEX format) the results are sent to the IGS Global Data Center (CDDIS).

The GPS station CRAO was included to the Ukrainian permanent GPS network in 2000. This one has been a permanent station of the Mediterranean GPS Network since 2000. The GPS station CRAO was included to the International GNSS Service (IGS) in 12 October 2004. Also, station GLSV was included in European Permanent GPS Network (EPN).
